LAHORE: Punjab Well being Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid mentioned Tuesday that every one nursing colleges in Punjab might be upgraded to high schools with the scholars receiving levels as an alternative of diplomas.
“The nurses will not have the option to pursue masters and PhD programmes,” mentioned the well being minister, including that no authorities labored to uplift nurses. The scholar capability has been elevated from 1,600 to 2,350 with two midwifery colleges being upgraded to varsity standing.
Dr Rashid mentioned the incumbent authorities had recruited 500 nurses and intends to extend month-to-month stipend from Rs20,000 to Rs31,000. Furthermore, the Shahdara Nursing Faculty would now solely prepare male nurses.
