The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on Wednesday once more blocked the in style video-sharing app TikTok over its failure to take away ‘inappropriate content material’.

“In the light of relevant provisions of Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016, PTA has blocked access to TikTok App and website in the country,” the PTA introduced on Twitter.

The motion has been taken because of the steady presence of inappropriate content material on the platform and its failure to take such content material down, the PTA said.

Earlier on July 2, the Sindh Excessive Courtroom (SHC) ordered the PTA to unblock the favored video-sharing website after the web and telecommunication regulator assured the courtroom that it’s going to take a call on the criticism of a petitioner by July 5.

The SHC single-judge bench comprising Justice Kauser Sultana took this resolution whereas listening to the PTA’s civil miscellaneous utility during which it requested the courtroom to put aside its June 28 order.

The SHC on June 28 ordered the PTA to dam TikTok until July 8 over ‘immoral content material’ and for celebrating “LGBTQ-Pride Month”. This was the third ban imposed on the social media website throughout the final two years.

Earlier on March 11, the Peshawar Excessive Courtroom (PHC) additionally ordered the PTA to ban TikTok over “immoral content”. The PHC, nonetheless, lifted the ban on April 1 after the PTA advised the courtroom that it had raised the problem once more with the TikTok’s administration.
