JHELUM: Federal Minister for IT Fawad Chaudhry has claimed the PML-N and the PPP are suspicious of one another after the Opposition’s shock defeat within the Senate elections held yesterday for the chairman and deputy chairman’s posts. 

“God has given PTI victory,” Chaudhry mentioned. “We won [Senate seats] from each of the [five] assemblies.” 

“There is a need to make the Senate election process more transparent. The PML-N and the PPP are now suspicious of each other. All these parties only got together out of spite for Imran Khan,” he mentioned. 

Referring to the PDM’s announcement that they’ll method the courts to problem the outcomes of the Senate chairman election, Chaudhry mentioned: “They will not getting anything from the courts — Sanjrani is chairman Senate now.” 

A day earlier, Chaudhry had spoken on a TV speak present and recommended that the federal government was nonetheless prepared to take a seat with the Opposition to introduce electoral reforms. 

He had famous that Prime Minister Imran Khan wished to carry Senate elections by an open poll, but the opposition didn’t help him. 

He claimed that the outcome was that many of the PML-N senators didn’t need to solid their votes in favour of Yousaf Raza Gillani.

He mentioned the federal government and opposition must sit collectively as dialogue was the one resolution to all issues and that the doorways are by no means closed in a democratic system.
