KARACHI: Pakistan’s southern port metropolis has reported the best fee of constructive instances for the novel coronavirus, with the worldwide pandemic spreading unabated throughout Pakistan.
In accordance with the Nationwide Command and Operations Middle (NCOC), Karachi reported the best COVID-19 positivity fee at 14.56% within the final 24 hours, versus Pakistan’s total fee of 5.8%. Peshawar follows the metropolis at 9.92% — the second-highest.

When it comes to areas and provinces, the positivity fee in Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Punjab, and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) was recorded at 8.47%, 7.39%, 6.25%, 5.43%, 3.63%, and a pair of.14%, respectively.
As of January 12, Pakistan recorded a complete of 508,824 constructive instances of coronavirus for the reason that outbreak final 12 months.
