Federal Minister for Science and Know-how Fawad Chaudhry recommended pop icon Rihanna for talking up concerning the protest of farmers in India which have escalated within the previous few months.

Rihanna had tweeted asking why the world is not speaking sufficient concerning the ongoing injustice with farmers in India. “Why aren’t we speaking about this?!” tweeted the singer as she shared a CNN article relating to the protests.

Retweeting Rihanna’s put up, the Chaudhry praised the icon for her stance, saying that she has earned the respect of farmers the world over.

“You have earned the respect of every Farmer of the world and particularly of #Punjabis all around the world you have shown your heart is in the right place…. loads if respect,” the federal minister stated on the micro-blogging web site.

Why are farmers protesting in India?

The farmers need the federal government to withdraw three new farms – launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s authorities in September – that they are saying will damage their livelihoods and profit giant non-public produce patrons.

The federal government says the reforms will open up new alternatives for farmers and it has invited farmer leaders for contemporary talks to finish the impasse.

Though Modi stays India’s hottest politician, his standing within the rural areas, the place most Indians reside, might be broken by his dealing with of the farmers’ two-month-old agitation.
