At the least 40% of the nation’s companies surveyed in a latest Gallup ballot have mentioned that they offer bribes to authorities officers to get their reliable work completed.
The survey, which sought responses from greater than 400 companies from completely different sectors, was printed by Gallup in its fourth quarter report of Gallup Pakistan’s Enterprise Confidence Index.
When requested by Gallup Pakistan about bribing authorities officers to do reliable work, 40% of enterprise house owners mentioned they have been pressured to pay a bribe, whereas 60% refused to present bribes to get their work completed.

A sector-wise breakdown of the companies confirmed that 56% businessmen within the manufacturing sector mentioned they paid bribes, 40% within the companies sector and 39% within the buying and selling sector.
Within the provinces, 50% of businessmen from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan mentioned they gave bribes even for reliable work, whereas 43% of companies in Punjab and 31% companies in Sindh mentioned they paid bribes.
